This Thai lesson video is an excerpt from the very first vocabulary lesson of the Thai Intensive Course. In this lesson you will
become acquainted with the way we teach by performing simple actions, like "jump" and "point to the floor".
You may find this lesson to be a bit uncomfortable as you may not be used to learning without taking notes. However, all of our
students so far have experienced the effectiveness of this method, and have seen how well they remember words when taught in this way.
A vocabulary list of the week is handed out every Friday, so you will have the opportunity to pick up any words you've forgotten.
In this lesson we talk about shopping. We practice numbers and vocabulary relating to buying and selling fruit and vegetables.
The example is taken from the first week of the Thai Intensive Course.
We know from experience that good listening comprehension is the best foundation for good language skills, in particular speaking,
grammar and reading. Consequently our teachers speak Thai during most of the lessons.
In the following lesson, listening comprehension training is combined with culture knowledge as the teachers talk about Thai table
manners. This example was taken from the third week of our Thai Intensive Course. Our students reported 95% comprehension of this
lesson.

Part 2:
When you learn Thai with us you learn how to talk about yourself and your own experiences. You never have to memorize
artificial dialogues or texts from books. Instead, you start from the very beginning to interact and communicate about topics that are important to you.
In this lesson we talk about lying and Sharon is asked if she has experienced other people lying to her. She recalls an event
where a friend took some candy from her and later lied about it.
This example was filmed during the ninth week of the Thai Intensive Course.
